PLYMOUTH, MA — The Town of Plymouth has successfully administered all first doses of the Moderna vaccine to its first responders, said a news release from the Plymouth Fire Department. Plymouth first responders were vaccinated at Plymouth Fire and Police Department Headquarters by employees of Brewster Ambulance Service. "I was first in line to receive the COVID-19 vaccine here at the fire department," said Chief G. Edward Bradley in a statement. "I wanted to make sure that the staff knew that the vaccine was safe and that there were no issues with receiving it. I hope that after our residents see us receive our inoculations they feel encouraged to follow suit." The Town of Plymouth is currently working on a plan to vaccinate home bound residents, said the news release, and encourages people to get the vaccine as soon as they are eligible. "It's extremely important for everyone to understand that the vaccine is safe and imperative to stopping the spread of COVID-19," said Karen Keane, Director of the Plymouth Public Health Department, in a statement. "We hope that as we move through the phases of the vaccine distribution plan, Plymouth residents know that the vaccination is safe and will choose to receive the vaccine in order to protect themselves and others."
