Description
MARBLEHEAD, MA — Paul Milner, a member of the Marblehead Rotary Club, has been honored with Paul Harris Fellow recognition for his and his wife, Toby's, work with a literacy program in the remote Mpumalanga Province in South Africa.
The fellow recognition goes to those who have "provided extraordinary service to the club" during the year. Milner's work was recognized because "literacy is a key driver of economic development and improved health and quality of life."
"The local population has benefited greatly from this program," the rotary determined.
Other people named Paul Harris Fellows include former President Jimmy Carter, former Russian President Boris Yelstin, U.S. astronaut James Lovell, United Nations Secretary-General Javier Perez de Cuellar and polio vaccine developer Jonas Salk.
