Winters in New England are notorious for their low temperatures, cold wind chills and heavy snow. But when it comes to the icy roads, they can take just about anyone by surprise.
Melissa, a Pepperell, Massachusetts, resident, learned this firsthand when she was driving on her own ice-covered residential street. As Melissa navigated her vehicle toward her home, it clearly had plans of its own. Instead of stopping in front of the house, the car decided to slowly glide backward and take an icy turn, sliding Melissa and her car down the road in the opposite direction.
While the car's slippery descent sure was scary at the time, Melissa explains that it was "funny after the fact." Luckily, no one was injured and there was no damage to any cars or property. The video, which was saved thanks to Melissa's Ring Floodlight Cam with a Ring Protect subscription, can serve as a reminder for everyone to drive cautiously this winter.
As for the battle between New Englanders driving cars in winter conditions, Melissa admits defeat, saying, "It was very icy! Ice 1, car 0."
