PERRY HALL, MD — Baltimore County has more than 46,000 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, according to state health data released Tuesday. Over 4,800 of those are in nursing homes, the data shows. More than 6,700 Marylanders have died from the virus since the beginning of the pandemic, according to the Maryland Department of Health. Hospitalizations from the virus are down statewide after hitting a peak Jan. 12. At that time, there were 1,952 patients hospitalized with the virus in Maryland. Two weeks later, the number has decreased by 310; state health data shows 1,642 patients are hospitalized with the virus Tuesday, Jan. 26. In Baltimore County, coronavirus-related hospitalizations are also on a downward trend. They had 140 patients hospitalized with the virus as of Sunday, Jan. 24, the latest data available.
