ANNAPOLIS, MD — Police have heard three reports of stolen cars over the past 11 days. Every claim came out of Annapolis.
Officers said the first theft came on Jan. 15 around 8:23 a.m. The victim told police that she left her car running and unattended while dropping her kids off at a babysitter in the 1000 block of Monroe Street. When she returned, the vehicle was gone, an incident report noted.
Police informed that they found the car abandoned in the 900 block of President Street later that day. The victim explained that her purse and belongings were gone, costing her about $4,700.
The Annapolis Police Department wrote that the second car theft took place in a parking lot in the 900 block of Bay Ridge Road. The white 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan was stolen sometime between Dec. 1, 2020 and Jan. 20 at 12:30 p.m., police advised. The write-up clarified that the van is registered in Maryland with the tag number 2AK2315.
Officers took the final theft report Monday around 6:46 p.m. The victim said her white 2015 Infiniti was stolen from the 200 block of West Street between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Saturday. The car has Maryland plates bearing the number 3EG6898, the press release notified.
