Press release from the City of Wilmington:
January 26, 2021
Wilmington Mayor Mike Purzycki and interim CEO of the Food Bank of Delaware, Sanjay Malik, invite Delaware residents to a FREE drive-thru pantry event to be held tomorrow, Wednesday, January 27 beginning at 11 am. in the parking lot at Frawley Stadium, at 801 Shipyard Drive in Wilmington. The drive-thru format requires participants to arrive in a vehicle, where they should remain while food bank staff loads the food into the trunk or hatchback. A photo ID and proof of Delaware residency, such as a utility bill or piece of mail, are required. Food will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
"Wilmington is a City that cares very much about all of our residents, so we are very happy to co-sponsor this free drive-thru pantry event to help make sure that everyone who needs extra food assistance during this difficult time can get it," said Mayor Purzycki. "The Food Bank of Delaware does great work providing nutritious food to Delawareans in need as well as addressing the problems of poverty and hunger in the community, and I hope everyone continues supporting their efforts."
