Wandering Pig Rescued In Joliet By Police Officers

JOLIET, IL — Several Joliet police officers found themselves responding to an unusual call for service over the weekend. There was a wild pig roaming a Joliet neighborhood near Gardner Street and Doris Avenue, on the city's south east side. Joliet police made the following announcement about the case on the department's Facebook page: "Let's start off the week with a story. This tail has a twist! This past Saturday, dayshift officers went hog wild after being flagged down near Gardner Street and Doris Avenue about a loose pig was seen exploring our city. After some teamwork, a commandeered children's bicycle, and the assistance of the Joliet Township Animal Control the big fella was safe and wee wee wee all the way home! We're glad it all turned out just swine!" One woman commented on the Joliet Police Department Facebook page: "I used to live right there at Gardner and elm, I bet I know which house that belongs to just look for a junk yard for a house." Another person responded. "That is one big porker! Way to go JPD snd JTAC for your excellent round up." Several Joliet police officers worked together over the weekend to corral this wild pig.
