Design a tabletop game, build it with the laser cutter, and compete to win prizes!
Ever wanted to make your own game? What about using a laser cutter? In the GlowForge Game Jam, we've got you covered on both fronts. You'll design a tabletop game, build it with the laser cutter, and compete to win prizes!
This is a two part event, held in the makerspace and SQ classroom. We'll have refreshments at both sessions!
Part One: Game Design | Tuesday, February 2, 6:30 PM
First, you'll learn the basics of game design from Media Arts professor and our Faculty Principal, Dr. Simon Tarr, and join a team to create a game of your own. You'll also get an intro on how to use the GlowForge laser cutter to make the pieces. We'll give you a theme, and the rest is up to your imagination.
Part Two: Game Play | Tuesday, February 16, 6:30 PM
Second, we'll play your creations and see which one reigns supreme. The winner gets a prize, and everyone gets snacks!
Space is limited to keep everyone at a safe distance, so be sure to register early.
