SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — Cal Fire has issued evacuation orders for parts of southern San Mateo County in the area of the CZU Lightning Complex burn area at high risk of flash floods ahead of a series of winter storms expected to hit the Bay Area starting Tuesday afternoon.
Evacuation orders were issued at 10:30 a.m. for the South Coast Zone, which includes Coastanoa and Ana Nuevo State Park, Whitestone Road and areas south of Gazos Creek Road, and the communities of Loma Mar, Dearborn Park Barranca Knolls (west of Cloverdale Road) and Butano Canyon.

A winter storm is expected to bring strong, potentially damaging winds and heavy rain to the region Tuesday and Wednesday, with lingering rain Thursday.
Daytime highs throughout the Bay Area are forecast to be in the 50s, before cooling to the 30s and 40s at night.
The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning across the Bay Area through Wednesday.
Additionally, a Flash Flood Warning has been issued for Sonoma's region Tuesday through Wednesday.
Cold temperatures and lingering showers are expected to last through the end of the month.
