ELMHURST, IL — A woman arrested last week in an Elmhurst bar fight hit another woman a number of times and pushed her against the wall during a pool game, according to a police report. The alleged aggressor was apparently the only one in her group not drinking. Late the afternoon of Jan. 16, police were called to Manny's Ale House, 683 W. St. Charles Road, according to a report obtained by Patch through a public records request. The owner of Manny's called 911 while he was chasing the woman who he said damaged a light fixture. When officers got to St. Charles and Route 83, they saw the woman and the owner. The owner told officers the woman caused a disturbance, broke a light fixture and tried to hit him as he tried to stop her from leaving, the report said. Officers interviewed the woman, identified as Sana Akhoon, 23, of Glendale Heights. When they asked her about the incident, she kept responding she didn't drink. And she denied being at the bar or doing anything wrong, according to the report. At one point, Akhoon walked away toward Route 83, but was told she was not free to go, police said. The owner told police he wanted to sign a complaint against Akhoon, so he could be compensated for damage to the ceramic light fixture, according to the report. In a later interview, a waitress told police that Akhoon, another woman and two men, all in their 20s, showed up at the bar about a half hour before the incident. Akhoon only had water, while the others ordered one drink each, according to the report. While they were playing pool, Akhoon was seen hitting the woman who was with her, police said. Akhoon pushed the woman against the wall, which caused damage to the light fixture, according to the report. The owner responded to the commotion and saw Akhoon trying to leave, police said. He tried to stop her, but she swung her arm at him, police said. The other three people paid their bill and left in an unknown direction. Once Akhoon arrived at the station, she was reported as calm and apologetic for her behavior, police said. Police read Akhoon her rights, and she explained to the officers that she fought with the woman, the report said. But officers said they were unable to get the identities of the other three people or the reason for the fight, police said. Akhoon was charged with one count of injuring property and released on bond.
