ELMHURST, IL — In the last few days, Elmhurst police handled cases involving a confrontation at a house, shoplifting, disorderly conduct, a domestic disturbance, a stun gun, an irate recipient of legal papers, fugitives and driving violations. Here is information from the latest police reports: Confrontation Speranza Gonzalez De Pagan, 21, of El Sobrante, Calif., was arrested shortly before 2 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of North Ferndale on a charge of theft. She was taken to the DuPage County Jail. In the same incident, Maria Clemente, 22, of Oakland, Calif., was charged with obstructing identification. She was released on bond. According to a police report, a victim told officers that the two women requested money and refused to leave the house. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that De Pagan stole a wristwatch, police said. Shoplifting A man tried to leave Jewel-Osco, 944 S. York St., with unpaid merchandise at 3 p.m. Saturday. When he was seen, he dropped the items and left. Officers checked the area, but could not find the man. The man was described as white, 25 years old, 5 feet, 2 inches, having brown hair, and wearing a black baseball cap, dark blue hoodie, blue jeans, black backpack and a medical mask. Two people filled reusable bags with items at Mariano's grocery store, 678 N. York St., and left without paying at 7:30 a.m. Thursday. They drove away in a black SUV. The first suspect was described as a white man with shaggy brown hair, facial hair, wearing a black coat, blue jeans and black shoes. Police did not have a full description of the second person. Disorderly conduct Stanley Adamkiewicz, 68, of Elmhurst, was cited about 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of West First on a charge of disorderly conduct. He was released on bond. According to police, officers responded to a report of a fall and found Adamkiewicz intoxicated. Domestic disturbance Police responded to a domestic disturbance about 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the 200 block of North York Street. A woman told officers that a suspect had taken her keys and jewelry. The suspect denied taking the items, which were later found in the woman's bag. Both parties said their argument never turned physical, and both agreed to separate for the day. Stun gun found A person found a pink stun gun in the donation box about 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Goodwill Store, 675 W. North Ave. The police took the stun gun and placed it into evidence for destruction. Irate recipient of legal papers A man became irate about 1 p.m. Saturday on Donald Court when he was served with legal papers. The server felt threatened, but did not want to sign a complaint. Fugitives A stolen car was spotted about midnight Saturday near East Butterfield and South York roads. When an officer tried to stop the car, the driver sped away, last seen headed east on Butterfield. The driver was believed to be connected with a carjacking in Addison.An officer tried to stop a four-door Volkswagen about 10:30 p.m. Saturday at Lake Street and North Route 83. The driver had disobeyed a traffic control device. The driver sped away, last seen headed west on Lake Street. The car was later found in Addison and was reported stolen in Hammond, Ind. Stolen car An officer reported the presence of a stolen car about 5 p.m. Thursday in the 100 block of East Elmhurst Avenue. The car was stolen in Chicago and had been left in the parking lot. Chicago police were notified, and the car was towed. Driving violations Marquis D. Williams-Carr, 23, of Maywood, was cited about 11 a.m. Sunday at Lake and Route 83 on a charge of driving with a suspended license and tinted windows. He was released on bond. Rogelio Miranmontes, 19, of Arlington Heights, was cited about 1:30 a.m. Monday at St. Charles and Villa on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and tinted windows. He was released on bond.Edgar Sanchez-Estrada, 26, of Maywood, was cited about 5 p.m. Friday at York and Wrightwood on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle. He was released on bond.Connie Johnson, 23, of Chicago, was arrested about 6 p.m. Friday at North and Villa on a DeKalb County Sheriff's Office warrant and charges of failure to secure a child and failure to wear a seat belt. She was released on bond. Luis J. Hernandez, 27, of Chicago, was cited about 6 p.m. Friday at North and Myrtle on charges of driving with a suspended license, illegal transportation of alcohol and operating uninsured motor vehicle. He was released on bond.Elliot Henrickson, 28, of Mundelein, was cited about 8 p.m. Thursday at North and Myrtle on charges of unlawful possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle and failure to wear a seat belt. He was released on bond. Brandon Betties, 28, of Chicago, was arrested about 4:30 a.m. Saturday at Roosevelt and York on charges of no valid driver's license, unlawful possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, improper display of registration and tinted windows. He was released on bond. Bobby Berry, 36, of Berwyn, was cited about 6 a.m. Thursday in the 1000 block of West Arthur on charges of driving with a revoked license and operating an uninsured vehicle. He was released on bond. David D. Lewis, 19, of Villa Park, was cited at 7 p.m. Thursday at Thomas and Pick on charges of driving with a suspended license, operating an uninsured vehicle and speeding. He was released on bond. Mariana Ramos-Garcia, 42, of Bensenville, was cited about 10 p.m. Thursday at York and Diversey on a charge of open alcohol in a vehicle. She was released on bond. Courtney Hill, 23, of Chicago, was cited shortly before midnight Thursday at Grand and Crown on charges of driving with a suspended license, possession of marijuana by a driver and speeding. In the same stop, Conner Lazarra, 23, of Chicago, was cited on a charge of possession of marijuana by a passenger. Both were released on bond. Anthony Davis, 34, of Chicago, was cited shortly before 1 a.m. Friday at Roosevelt and Route 83 on charges of driving with a suspended license, unlawful possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, tinted windows and failure to wear a seat belt. He was released on bond. Warrant Ryann Johnson, 22, of Bellwood, was arrested about 4 a.m. Sunday at Roosevelt and Route 83 on a Glen Ellyn Police Department warrant. The suspect was released to the Glen Ellyn police. Police report information is provided by local police departments. Charges are not evidence of guilt.
