Philip of the Bradley Police Department saw a broken flagpole and the American flag lying on the ground in a resident's yard, he pulled over, picked it up, carefully folded and placed it atop their mailbox. He also moved the flagpole out of the driveway and onto the lawn. The resident, Kris, has a Ring Video Doorbell and Spotlight Cam, so he was able to witness the officer's kindness firsthand. "The flag means so much to me," Kris explains. "To have someone pick it up and fold it was very emotional to see on the video. I've been told by people who walk their dogs that they like the flag and that their kids also comment on the flag." Kris is glad he learned about Lt. Philip's good deed from his Ring devices. Otherwise, he would have never known who the good Samaritan was. This setback won't deter Kris from proudly flying the American flag in the front yard — in fact, he's already put up a new flagpole. And hopefully, Kris says, the heavy wind won't knock this one over. "If this one blows over," he said, "I'll seek out a heavy-duty one next." In the meantime, he'll be able to keep a close eye on their yard and the rest of his property with his Ring devices. "Just having it," Kris says, "and being able to check [on my home] anytime I want creates a peace of mind."
