DOYLESTOWN, PA — A local attorney has announced his candidacy for judge in the Bucks County Court of Common Pleas.
Amir Stark, a family law attorney with the Doylestown law firm of Penglase & Benson, is the first candidate on the Republican ticket, though he is also cross-filing on the Democratic ticket.
Early in his career, Stark spent time volunteering with Legal Aid of Southeast Pennsylvania as a pro bono attorney in domestic abuse court, which inspired him to commit his career entirely to family law, his campaign said in a news release.
He also serves as the attorney for A Woman's Place, Bucks County's domestic violence community benefit organization.
Stark lives in Northampton Township with his wife, Lisa, and their two daughters, who are in elementary school.
