LIVERMORE, CA — The Palo Alto VA Medical Center-Livermore was left with minimal damage after what appeared to be a very small electrical fire was reported there Monday morning.
A nurse alerted authorities via the fire pull station at 11 a.m. after she opened a door to walk into a second-floor room, smelled smoke, and heard crackling and popping, said Battalion Chief Dan Moyles.
The fire was very small and did not cause much damage or any injuries. It's thought to have started due to an electrical issue with a freezer.
Alameda County Fire also responded to the scene.
