Gilroy Man Killed In Highway 152 Head-On Crash

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, CA — A Gilroy man was killed early Saturday morning in a head-on collision on Highway 152 that also left a Merced County man injured, the California Highway Patrol said. The 57-year-old man Gilroy man was driving eastbound on Highway152, also known as the Pacheco Pass Highway, when he drifted over the yellow lines just west of Lovers Lane and hit a car headed westbound about 3 a.m. The Gilroy man died at the scene, the CHP said. The driver of the other car, a 64-year-old man from Gustine, suffered moderate injuries and was taken to a hospital. The wreck is under investigation, the CHP said. — Bay City News contributed to this report
