As part of the ongoing digital transformation process, the City of Carlsbad is implementing a new records management system called Laserfiche to replace the existing, outdated system. The new system will provide an intuitive, user friendly interface and new features that will facilitate records management and workflows.
Most city documents are public records, and many city records are now available online, including contracts, reports, resolutions and meeting minutes. Laserfiche will be available to the public starting Monday, Jan. 25. You can view the new portal here.
The new system will:
Offer a new public records portal that facilitates self-service for finding public records using search forms or a GIS map interface Provide a more user-friendly interface to help find city records Some records are exempt from disclosure because they are considered confidential or privileged. Rules about records can be found in the Public Records Act.
