Richmond International Academic & Soccer Academy (RIASA) is the world's only programme offering a US college education alongside a professional soccer academy experience in the UK. We’re a unique soccer academy that is partnered with Richmond, The American University in London to offer students an undergraduate degree in International Sports Management. The uniqueness is, you'll receive a dual accredited UK/US degree, if you join our programme and study with us in Leeds. This makes you more employable and opens up future options for you as a graduate seeking pro soccer or a career within the sporting industry. Not only that, if you join RIASA you will be thrown into a passionate footballing culture. We train at least 4 times per week and play competitive matches and friendlies to help you develop. Our academy has highly experienced UEFA coaches, we use professional standard facilities and the campus where RIASA is located offers a sense of community with breathtaking architecture and greenland. What is a RIASA ID Camp? It’s exciting to be part of a RIASA ID Camp! The event is well planned and gives the chance for US students to experience UK football. On the day you will meet our highly experienced coaches, understand the demands of English football, train with high intensity and learn more about our unique dual accredited soccer programme. Who will be coaching? RIASA has highly qualified, ex-professional coaches who will be attending the ID Camp. Martin Hunter & Christian Eissele will be coaching at this ID Camp. Martin brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. With a background in both football coaching that includes the England U19 and U20 teams and management, at national and international level. Over a 40 year career Martin has worked at several high profile clubs including 8 years at Southampton as Technical Director, Premier league clubs Watford and Norwich City, and with a diversity of high profile players including Michael Owen, Joe Cole and Theo Walcott. Christian Eissele joined RIASA and after graduating was successful in playing pro football in Europe. He went on to play for over 8 years across the US for Sacramento Republic and OKC Energy FC to name a few. Christian has a wealth of experience, and because he has been on our programme, he can offer invaluable insight into how you can make it in the game. Who should attend the RIASA ID Camp? Any soccer player who is exploring options for college soccer at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. We also welcome those who have already been accepted onto the programme. This is a great opportunity for parents and students to understand how we play, what is expected of students at our academy and how you can grow as an individual both academically and on the pitch. The RIASA ID Camp offers a glimpse into what life could be like when you join our academy and embark on a life-changing journey. What will attendees be doing at the RIASA ID Camp? Students attending will undertake an intensive training session with RIASA coaches, learning about our playing style and what is expected from student-athletes. Later on, they will view a presentation covering all aspects of our programme and finally, get involved in a Q&A. Depending on numbers, there will also be a mini scrimmage, which will allow the students to put into practice what they have learnt in the mornings intense training session. The ID Camp is a great way to find out more about our programme and see for yourself how we as an academy can help you grow as an individual. Any refunds closer to the event date will not be refunded. COVID-19 UPDATE: The RIASA Orlando ID Event on 1st May 2021 will still be going ahead and we are doing everything within our power to get the RIASA staff to the United States. However if COVID prevents this, Christian Eissele our coach in the US will attend and take the training sessions. We will still have a presentation and this will be done via a webinar so all your questions can be answered. Christian Eissele joined RIASA and after graduating was successful in playing pro football in Europe. He went on to play for over 8 years across the US for Sacramento Republic and OKC Energy FC to name a few. The webinar will include all the usual information about RIASA, our coaches and the program, and it offers a great chance to envisage what it would be like attending our unique soccer program in Leeds.
