Create a unique birdhouse from clay! I will teach you some basics of hand building from the pinch method to attaching pieces together. Remember making mud cakes as a kid after it rained? Some of my fondest memories are of playing outdoors and creating whatever I could with whatever was around. Clay is very much like mud but it holds together to create just about whatever you can imagine. I'll be teaching you how to use a very basic skill to create a one of a kind birdhouse. Be patient, work slowly and enjoy the process and you will end up with something quite unique. I will teach you some must know skills so the construction of your project will withstand the ages. Your pieces will need to dry for one to two weeks before they are fired in a kiln to over 1200 degrees for 12 hours. I will return your birdhouses to The Lounge where you can pick them up and paint them with acrylic paints and spray them with a clear coat to seal it for the outdoors.
