Hello JHCV Family, We are excited to let you know that we will be reopening the church sanctuary for services and other programs from Sunday, November 1, 2020. While this is great news, it is important to note that Covid-19 is still with us and as such we have to exercise the utmost care and highest level of diligence as we start physical gatherings. We will be reopening under the guidelines instituted by the CDC, the State of California, the San Joaquin County Public Health Department and the RCCGNA CA2 Zone. These guidelines have imposed several limitations on our gatherings in an effort to protect us all and limit the spread of COVID-19. The most impactful limitation is the requirement to reduce the sitting capacity of our sanctuary to 25% of its normal capacity. The purpose of this limitation is to maintain physical (social) distancing in the sanctuary. The net effect of this limitation is that we cannot have more than 30 people at any of our worship services. Based on this stipulation and other guidelines, we will be reopening the sanctuary on November 1st with the following conditions:  If you are sick or feeling sick, please stay at home and join the livestream of the service. We all have a personal responsibility to each other so if we are sick or feeling sick, let’s just stay home. We believe in the power of prayer to heal so we ask that you let the church know if you are sick so that we can lift you up in prayer consistent with James 5:14-16  People aged 65 years and above are encouraged to remain home and continue to join the livestream of the service.  People with serious underlying medical conditions are strongly encouraged to remain at home for now and continue to join the live stream of the service.  Children under 12 years old should remain home. Children’s Church and Teenage church will continue to meet in the manner they are currently meeting.  Sunday School will continue on Zoom at a 9 am on Sunday.  Service will start at 11 am and end at 12:30 pm.  Temperature checks will be conducted for everyone coming into the sanctuary.  The Governor of California has mandated that masks must be worn in public spaces and so masks will be required for everyone coming into the sanctuary. Please come with your masks to church but if you come without one, we will provide you with one.  Hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the sanctuary.  Seats in the sanctuary will be arranged to maintain physical (social) distance. We also encourage greetings to be consistent with physical (social) distance guidelines.  We encourage that tithes, offering and other contributions be given using contactless forms of payments such as Zelle, Text to Give, PayPal and Givelify. We will certainly continue to accept Cards, Cash and Checks but they carry a higher risk of infection. We will stop passing around offering baskets, but we will install an offering box in the sanctuary where you can drop your cash and check offerings.  Sharing and eating of food will not be allowed in the sanctuary for now. If you plan on making food available for a church meeting, please reach out to the Hospitality Department (Sister Ruth Jegede) to discuss your options.  While in the sanctuary, please observe COVID-19 hygiene best practices such as frequent hand washing with soap and water and avoiding touching your face. Please note that we are in the midst of a global dynamic and so there may be further limitations or conditions promulgated by various agencies. We will continue to comply with all regulations and where necessary, we will revise these protocols accordingly. We have invested heavily in cleaning supplies and PPE such as masks and gloves. We have also contracted with a third party to provide ongoing CDC approved cleaning services for the sanctuary. We are doing all of this to provide you with a safe atmosphere to worship God. We ask for your support and encouragement in implementing these plans. Please be gracious with our church workers (especially our ushers and ministers) who may provide you with instructions and direction when you come to church. We ask that you comply with their instructions. They are doing their best to keep you safe. If you have any questions or concerns, please send them to [email protected] or you can email us directly at [email protected] or [email protected]. We look forward to seeing you all soon. Pastors Yinka & Funke
