TEWKSBURY, MA — Tewksbury's active case count has fallen rapidly in recent weeks, dropping to just 157 cases as of Friday.
The town reported nearly 900 active cases in its last update, on Jan. 8. According to Friday's update, there were 288 cases as of Jan. 15.
The latest cases bring the town to 2,517 cases. Since the pandemic reached the region, 105 residents have died.
Tewksbury's positive test rate fell to 6.1 percent in the latest two-week period, according to state data released Thursday. This is the town's lowest positive rate since early December.
