Description

HUGE success comes with a little patience! For several months after 1 yo Eggo moved into her foster home, she hid under furniture all day, and only came out when her foster mom was gone or asleep. Now, she is up with her in the morning, expecting commencement of her breakfast routine. :-) Eggo really enjoys the enclosed balcony for observing the outside world and for napping in sunlight. She sits or sleeps in the same room with her foster mom while she is working. Although Eggo is still very independent and cautious, she has begun to solicit head scratches! She loves playing with rolling and squishy toys, though she currently prefers to play by herself. Eggo feels safest in a guarded (but not closed in) space, such as watching her foster mom from under a chair in the corner, but not getting into cozy boxes or carriers. She is generally quiet, is not picky about her food, and loves gravy treats. Eggo is great with other cats (she came to AAC with several), but has not been around dogs or children in her foster home. She may be fine with dogs given a slow and proper introduction. Eggo needs an adopter who will patiently continue to help her come out of her shell. https://youtu.be/7WnegREhvIo Because Eggo is a long stay cat, she qualifies as a Desperate Housecat (DHC). Adoption fees for cats from the Austin Animal Center are usually $75, but for DHCs, the adoption fee is usually waived. She is microchipped, and is current on her rabies vaccination. For more info about the DHC Program - www.desperatehousecats.info; Facebook – DHCAustin Eggo would love to meet you. Her AAC number is A814115. Please e-mail to set up a meeting.
