STRATFORD, CT — A woman and a baby were taken to a hospital and a family of five was displaced after a blaze Sunday in Stratford.
Firefighters responded about 10 a.m. to Henry Avenue, where they found smoke coming from the third-floor bedroom window of a two-family home, according to a fire department news release. The blaze was contained to one room and a team of more than 20 emergency personnel brought the fire under control in 15 minutes, the news release said.
A 21-year-old woman and a 2-month-old infant were transported to Bridgeport Hospital to be evaluated for smoke inhalation. The American Red Cross is assisting the family of five, as the second-floor apartment in uninhabitable.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
