MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — With the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health announcing today [Monday, Jan. 25] a countywide reopening of full-service outdoor dining at all restaurants, restaurants in Manhattan Beach are shifting their reopenings to coincide with the county timeline. Manhattan Beach City Council member Steve Napolitano, who sits on the council's Long Term Business Solutions Ad Hoc Committee, told Manhattan Beach Patch earlier today that the Long Term Business Solutions Ad Hoc committee would allow restaurants in Downtown and North Manhattan Beach to reopen public outdoor dining parklets in the public right-of-way. Now, with the county announcing its allowance of full-service outdoor dining starting Friday, Jan. 29, those restaurants that would have opted to reopen Wednesday are waiting until Friday. "This way restaurants won't have to shift gears yet again and waste money," he said. "The restaurants are aware of this and support this approach." The change means the restaurants will be opening "in accordance with LA County guidelines."
