Description

A community cleanup followed by a guided meditation by The Resilient Activist. Heartland Conservation Alliance and The Resilient Activist invite you to experience the Blue River and your connection to nature. Through a guided meditation and community cleanup, HCA and The Resilient Activist demonstrate the ways the Blue River is a community asset and how it enriches our lives. The event will take place at Minor Park. Unable to make it? That's ok! The meditation will be offered via Zoom so you can participate from your own backyard. Did you know that the Blue River travels 42 miles, across two states, five counties and 21 municipalities? It flows from Johnson County Kansas, through Kansas City Metro Area where it confluences with the Missouri River in eastern Jackson County. The Blue River directly impacts your life, and it's important we take care of it for the health of all the communities the river connects. More details to come. The event is free, but registration is required so we can send you the Zoom link! All participants are asked to adhere to COVID guidelines. Please wear a mask and keep socially distant from those not in your party.
