LIBERTYVILLE, IL — The Village of Libertyville this week announced it will host two virtual town hall sessions to discuss a proposed utility fee for stormwater management. In a news release, the village said the fee will be used to afford improvements to, and maintenance of, the stormwater infrastructure, which includes storm sewers and culverts. In advance of the meetings, residents are invited to visit the village's stormwater utility website, which includes answers to frequently asked questions, a fee background and a tool that allows residents to estimate their stormwater fee costs. Should the village board adopt the fee, it will go into effect on Sept. 1 and be billed bimonthly. Meetings will be held virtually this Thursday and on Feb. 11 at 7 p.m. Dial-in information for the first meeting is available online. Click here to access dial-in information for the second meeting. Questions and feedback can also be provided in advance of each meeting by emailing [email protected]. The village said comments and questions will be read aloud during meetings. Both town hall sessions will also be recorded and uploaded to the village's website.
