Man Killed In Southern State Crash

TOWN OF ISLIP, NY — A Brentwood man was killed after crashing into a tree off the Southern State Parkway early Sunday, according to State police. Christopher Gutierrez, 21, was driving a 2017 Subaru eastbound on the parkway at exit 40 by the Robert Moses Causeway when his car left the roadway striking the tree at about 12:47 a.m. Gutierrez sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. The collision is still under investigation and the State Police is asking anyone who witnessed or with information to call (631) 756-3300.
