TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit has announced an arrest in connected to a shooting Sunday evening that resulted in one injury. Joseph Baskins, 34, was charged with attempted murder shortly after the incident. You can also support local journalism by donating as little as $5 a month to become a supporting member or by downloading our free Patch mobile app. Unit Commander Captain Jack Kennedy said at approximately 7:35 p.m., the Tuscaloosa Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 3200 Block of 18th Place. He then said a single victim had been shot once and suffered non-life threatening injuries. "The shooting occurred during a mutual argument among several people," Kennedy said. "Multiple items of evidence were located and based on witness descriptions a suspect was developed." Baskins was eventually located and interviewed before being formally charged. He was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail with bond set at $60,000 for the attempted murder charge.
