AFRICAN WATOTO DANCE THEATRE is having their 4th Annual DANCE TO LEARN YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM to impact the wellbeing of the youths. Our DANCE TO LEARN YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM is an arts educational course that is based on a life skill system of teaching through African dance culture and traditions to help strengthen personal development and showcase the student’s creative potential. During the 3 week sessions students are challenged and engaged in dance activities and hands on projects. They will learn about and gain appreciation of dance in it’s cultural context, develop analytic insight into the structure of dance choreography, make basic performance accessories and adapt a positive behavior that enable them to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of life. All classes are held outdoors with lots of space to maintain social distancing. If we need to present the class virtually through zoom because of the weather, we will send out a notification via emails
