Description
WOBURN, MA — Woburn firefighters put out a fire in a 2.5-story apartment building on Vining Court, Sunday night.
Firefighters responded to the call at 7:11 p.m. and found a bedroom fire in a second-floor apartment, Chief Donald Kenton said. The fire appeared to be electrical, but the cause is still under investigation.
There were no injuries, Kenton said.
Stoneham, Burlington, Winchester and Reading firefighters provided mutual aid at the fire and the fire was cleared around 9 p.m. Wilmington, Lexington, Wakefield and Medford provided station coverage.
Two of the three apartments in the building remain inhabitable, the chief said.
Kenton did not have a damage estimate but said there was smoke and water damage throughout the apartment.
"Our guys did a great job, as usual, limiting damage and putting the fire out," Kenton said. "It was 20 degrees, in the dark."
