Arrest Made in Bluff Park Shooting

HOOVER, AL — A Georgia man has been arrested in connection with a Jan. 6 shooting at a Bluff Park apartment complex. Emmanuel Dion Leonard of Stone Mountain, Ga., was arrested Friday by members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. A report by the Hoover Police Department said the shooting occurred just after 9:30 p.m. near the 100 building at The Park at Wakefield and Wellington apartments. Police said a man was found lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds and was transported to UAB Hospital. Detectives determined that the shooting took place during a drug deal. After gathering evidence at the scene and speaking with the victim and additional witnesses, Leonard was charged with attempted murder and robbery. Hoover police said detectives are still working to identify others that are involved in this case.
