MONTGOMERY, AL — While a report of more than 1,800 new cases of COVID-19 over 24 hours is nothing to cheer about, the fact that Alabama was reporting more than 3,000 new cases per day just a month ago gives hope to health officials that a light is at the end of the tunnel in regard to the pandemic. The Alabama Department of Public Health confirmed 1,835 new cases of the virus Monday, and reported two COVID-19 deaths. The ADPH also reported that 2,254 people remain hospitalized with COVID-19 in Alabama hospitals.
