Spire To Begin Major Project In Crestline Soon

MOUNTAIN BROOK, AL — A major project by Spire is set to begin in Crestline Jan. 25, a project the company expects to complete by this summer. Spire will begin work at Euclid Avenue and Greenbriar Lane and proceed south to Montevallo Road. On February 1, work will begin at the intersection of Greenbriar Lane and Montevallo Road and proceed west on Montevallo Road to Glencoe Drive. Once this portion of the project is completed, the work will proceed east toward Sims Avenue. Prior to the work beginning, literature with information about the upgrade project will be distributed to residents living in the immediate work areas. While this project requires crews to dig in the streets and — in some cases, yards — Spire said in a statement that it is focused on ensuring work be performed safely and efficiently. "By working between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm on weekdays and practicing control measures to ensure traffic flows as smoothly as possible, we plan to avoid contributing to rush-hour delays," the statement said. "One lane of traffic will remain open at all times during the project, and Spire encourages motorists to drive with caution through these work areas." When the project is completed this summer, Spire said they will completely restore affected streets, yards and landscaping.
