BIRMINGHAM, AL — Jefferson County is averaging roughly 400 new cases of COVID-19 per day over the last week. This is a significant drop from the beginning of the month, where in the first week of 2021 the county averaged more than 600 cases a day.
Since the pandemic began, Jefferson County has reported 62,752 cases of the virus, and confirmed 920 deaths. In January alone, Jefferson County has reported 224 COVID-19 deaths.
