LOTUS LAMP In 1922 Howard Carter discovered the tomb of King Tutankhamun and consequently Egyptian motif clothes, furnishings, and even architecture was the rage over Europe as well as the United States for about two decades, ending with the start of WWII. This lamp is called a Lotus lamp due to its shape likening a lotus plant with the long fluted stem and open top. This Lotus Lamp is 27 inches tall and I have owned it for almost 50 years. I purchased it at an estate sale in a Los Angeles neighborhood where the houses were all built in the early 1930s.
