PHILADELPHIA — A Philadelphia Police officer has been arrested and charged in connection with the sexual assault of a minor that occurred in 2015. The Philadelphia Police Department said Officer Rahim Montgomery was arrested by the Philadelphia Police Department's Internal Affairs Division on Friday. Montgomery's arrest is pursuant to an Internal Affair Division and Special Victims Unit investigation of a sexual assault that was reported to the Special Victims Unit on July 19, 2020. Police said the complainant reported to detectives that Montgomery sexually assaulted her approximately five years prior, when the complainant was a minor. The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office charged Montgomery with one count of felony unlawful contact with a minor to commit indecent assault/indecent exposure, one count of indecent assault, one count of indecent exposure, and corruption of minors. Officer Rahim Montgomery is 40-years-old and a 20-year veteran of the Department who was most recently assigned to the 9th District. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw has suspended Montgomery for 30 days with the intent to dismiss at the end of the 30 days.
