SHOREWOOD, WI — In response to the growing concern over the new coronavirus, Shorewood officials are postponing municipal court cases and have limited some public meetings. According to Shorewood officials, Municipal Court will be canceled March 17, April 1, and April 21 due to the concerns of the coronavirus. Cases scheduled to be heard during these sessions are postponed and will be rescheduled on a date later to be determined. Citizens are urged to contact Court Clerk Norma Kunze at 847-2617 or via email at [email protected] with any questions. The Village Board met in session Monday at 7:30 p.m., though the Committee of the Whole originally scheduled at 6:00 p.m. was postponed. The Village Board agenda for the meeting was reduced to essential action items. "Due to recent concerns expressed from the CDC, the Village wants to encourage residents to use the video recording of the public meeting to stay informed on recent discussions at the Village Board," officials said. "The recording will be published tomorrow (March 17) subject to any technical difficulties." Seating at Monday's meeting was limited for speakers and staff as seats were separated by the recommended distance, six feet apart.
