SHORWEOOD, WI — An attorney representing a 21-year-old Shorewood man who was shoved by Stephanie Rapkin outside her house says the real victim is Eric Lucas. Lucas was the 17-year-old Shorewood High School student who was spit upon by Stephanie Rapkin, a 64-year-old attorney. That incident was recorded on video, and now Rapkin faces a hate crime charge in Milwaukee County Circuit Court. A day after the spitting incident, protesters gathered in front of her house to condemn the previous day's incident. Joe Friedman was one of the protesters who was in front of Rapkin's house, attorney Michael Maistelman said. "Joe and many others were peacefully protesting on the public sidewalk and street in front of Attorney Rapkin's house," Maistelman said. "Some of the protesters were condemning what she did the day before by writing on the public sidewalk in chalk. At some point, Attorney Rapkin confronted the protesters on the public right-of-way, including Joe. Joe was filming the entire incident." You can watch the video here. Maistelman said they're going to watch how the criminal process plays out before making any decisions on what to do next on the legal front. "Attorney Rapkin engaged Joe in an argument, and then she pushed him, demonstrating what she wrongfully alleges Eric Lucas did to her," Maistelman wrote. "The whole incident was caught on video, as was her spitting on Eric the day before. Attorney Rapkin can and has fabricated her narrative of the events, but the videos tell a different story."
