BROOKFIELD, WI — An Elm Grove family is hoping to have their beloved pet dog returned home before the holidays. Gracie, a female golden retriever with red fur fled her Elm Grove home last week. Gracie's owner says he blanketed the area with postings and received calls on here whereabouts, but the reports have stopped. She may be in Brookfield and the last potential sighting was near at 144th and Metcalf. "She is a rescued Golden Retriever from a puppy mill. Does not have any survival skills and unlikely to seek help from humans," David Ciepluch wrote to Patch.
