BROOKFIELD, WI — Six long-term care facilities in Waukesha County have active COVID-19 outbreak investigations as of this week, state health officials said.
According to Wisconsin Department of Health Services data updated on Wednesday, there are a total of 84 COVID-19 investigations in Waukesha County.
State officials say there are 16 active investigations at long-term care facilities, 40 at workplaces, and five at other locations. A number of investigations have been closed. Of the 16 long-term care facilities with active investigations, six are for nursing homes.
A single confirmed case initiates a facility-wide public health investigation at long-term care facilities.
According to DHS data, there are six active nursing home investigations. Those locations are:

Two or more confirmed cases initiates a facility-wide public health investigation in group housing facilities, health care facilities, workplaces and other settings.
