Wisconsin Goes 3 Days Without Reported COVID-19 Death

MILWAUKEE, WI — There have been no new COVID-19-related deaths over the last three days in Wisconsin, state officials said, saying there's also been a 49 percent increases in cases over the last two weeks. The Wisconsin Department of Health Services said Monday there have not been any virus-related deaths since July 4, with the state's death toll remaining at 796. Wisconsin has kept track of COVID-19-related deaths since the first two were reported on March 19. The most deaths over a 24-hour period came on May 27, when 22 deaths were reported. In the last 14 days, Wisconsin's death toll has reached double digits only once, when 11 deaths were recorded on June 27. As the apparent death toll decreases, the number of positive cases and the positive case percentages have increased, state officials said. State officials said 484 new cases were reported Monday out of 5,286 tests. State officials also say Wisconsin has a daily testing capacity of 19,014 tests as of Monday with 80 labs doing the testing and 27 more that are planning to come online later this year. Wisconsin also set a new 7-day rolling average for positive COVID-19 cases, which stands at 572. The 7-day rolling average has increase every day since June 19 when it sat at 273, according to official state data.
