BROOKFIELD, WI — Sanju Reddy Peddagorla, a senior at Brookfield East High School, has been named a U.S. Presidential Scholar for Wisconsin. District officials say that Sanju is the fifth Elmbrook student to be named a Presidential Scholar in the last four years, the most of any School District in the Country during that time period. Of more than 5,300 candidates who qualified for the 2020 awards, Sanju was selected as one oftwo students honored from Wisconsin and one of 161 Presidential Scholars chosen in theU.S. This year's recipients will be recognized this summer as public health circumstances permit,Education Department officials said.
