Press release from the City of Charleston:
July 17, 2020
Today, members of the West Virginia National Guard sanitized multiple locations commonly used by Charleston police officers, including areas of City Hall, following three confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in the Charleston Police Department. A Curis Decontamination System was used to disinfect all surfaces. This hydrogen-peroxide based fogging system is 99.9999% effective in sanitization.
"I would like to thank Major General Hoyer and the West Virginia National Guard for their rapid response in cleaning our facilities," said Mayor Amy Shuler Goodwin. "The National Guard was contacted yesterday morning and cleaning in all areas was complete by this afternoon."
Normal police operations continued throughout the cleaning.
