RESTON, VA — Lasagna Mama Eileen Scherzinger and her colleagues at Lasagna Love celebrated Monday's MLK Day of Service by distributing lasagna dinners to hungry families around the Reston area. Scherzinger started the day by delivering 40 lasagnas to Second Story in Vienna and participated in a massive outreach to sign up families who could then pick up free lasagna dinners at the South Lakes Starbucks in Reston. With the help of other lasagna chefs from around the region, about 100 lasagna dinners were distributed. In addition, the lasagna chefs delivered 60 meals to Reston's Embry Rucker Shelter. Since Scherzinger first heard about the Lasagna Love movement last October, she's been signing up local "Lasagna Mamas" and "Lasagna Papas" to help feed food-insecure families across Northern Virginia. People looking to volunteer or to request a meal can do so by filling out a form on the Lasagna Love website. Individuals can also show their support by making a financial donation to help defray the costs of preparing and delivering the meals. Donations can be made by cash, Venmo, Paypal or grocery gift cards. Also see ... Lasagna Love Helps Feed Local Families Facing Food Insecurity
