SPRING VALLEY, NY — While the officer who shot former Spring Valley resident Delrawn Small in a 2016 road-rage incident was acquitted of criminal charges, he now faces disciplinary charges by the New York Police Department, The Journal News Reported. Small was shot by Officer Wayne Isaacs in Brooklyn. Isaacs was accused of shooting Small three times near Atlantic Avenue and Bradford Street after allegedly cutting off the 37-year-old. Isaacs, who was off-duty at the time, reportedly testified that he shot Small in self-defense because Small punched him in the face and threatened to kill him. A Brooklyn jury acquitted him of criminal charges in November 2017. However, the Civilian Complaint Review Board began investigating the incident in 2019.
