Tampa Police Investigate ATM Break-In

TAMPA, FL — Tampa police are investigating a theft at an ATM machine at the Chase Bank early Thursday morning. At 3:52 a.m., police were called to Chase Bank at 1322 S. Dale Mabry Highway. Officers and the police helicopter arrived just minutes after receiving the call, but the three thieves were able to flee in a stolen 2004 gray Ford pickup truck. Police recovered the stolen pickup truck, found abandoned on South Sterling Avenue just north of West Neptune Street. Officers contacted the owner who was not aware the pickup truck had been stolen. Detectives are coordinating with bank officials to gather additional leads concerning the break-in.
