Williamson Co. To Offer Coronavirus Testing Starting Thursday

ROUND ROCK, TX – Williamson County will open a free public testing site for COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, on Thursday, April 30. These free drive-thru tests will be available by appointment only. The Williamson County and Cities Health District will utilize an online screening tool to asses whether someone is eligible for a COVID-19 test. Those who should consider getting tested for COVID-19 include: People with a fever and/or other symptoms such as cough, trouble breathing or diarrheaPeople who have had contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVId-19People with other health conditions such as diabetes, lung disease, COPD or obesityPeople over age 60Healthcare workers and first respondersIf you are experiencing shortness of breath, chest pain, confusion or are feeling faint, call 911 immediately. Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell said there are already residents who have appointments scheduled for Thursday. For more information and to start the online assessment, visit the Williamson County and Cities Health District. Additionally, the Williamson County Commissioner's Court on Tuesday signed an agreement with a private company that has agreed to offer free testing at multiple locations across the county.
