AUSTIN, TX — Pet adoptions have soared as Americans spend more time in their homes during the coronavirus pandemic — including in Austin, which ranked 15th among the nation's biggest cities in a new report.
Lombardo Homes recently analyzed search volume in 50 cities nationwide to learn where Americans are emptying the shelters. Austin emerged as the city with the 15th most adoptions, sandwiched between Portland and Houston. Arlington was the only Texas city to crack the top five, ranking 4th on the list.
Among the study's key findings:
