Press release from the City of Franklin: January 6, 2021 Apply by February 1, 2021 Franklin, TN – The Franklin Fire Department is now hiring firefighters. Applicants must be 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license. No prior firefighting or emergency medical experience/certification is required in order to apply. The Franklin Fire Department provides paid training and certification. The deadline to apply is February 1, 2021. Firefighter starting salaries are as follows: Base entry-level salary $40,040 annually Paramedic entry-level salary $46,490 annually Experienced Firefighter salary $45,272 annually Experienced Firefighter/Paramedic salary $51,772 annually Qualified applicants will be invited to take a written test, and a pass/fail physical ability test in early March. If hired with no prior certification, firefighters must successfully complete the City of Franklin's or the Tennessee Fire and Codes Academy's fire training program. They must also successfully complete and pass Emergency Medical Technician Basic training, and pass the EMT-B National Registry exam within two years of their hire date.
