Press release from the City of San Mateo: January 11, 2021 Community involvement in local government plays an important and active role in the City of San Mateo. The City Council seeks participation from its diversely skilled citizens and encourages all who are interested to apply for a position on the San Mateo Library Board. This is for a term ending June 10, 2024. The Library Board meets on the fourth Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in Main Library Cedar Room (meets virtually during COVID-19 pandemic.) The board serves in an advisory capacity to the City Librarian, City Manager and Council. Some of the responsibilities include: oversee the Library department's policies and to accept in the name of the City, money, personal and real property donated for Library purposes.
