Description
From the Town of Summerville: September 28, 2020 Summerville Town Council has extended Temporary Ordinance 20-0902 requiring the public to wear face coverings in certain circumstances in the town of Summerville through 11:59 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2020. The vote was made at a special called council meeting on Monday, September 28, in the best interest of public health and out of an abundance of caution in helping to reduce risk of exposure to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). The Temporary Ordinance requires all persons entering a grocery store, pharmacy, or Town owned or operated building to wear a face covering while inside the establishment or facility. For purposes of the Temporary Ordinance, the term "grocery store" does not include a convenience store. All restaurants, retail stores, salons, barber shops, grocery stores, pharmacies, and Town buildings and indoor facilities must require their employees to wear a face covering at all times while having face to face interaction with the public or other employees. All public meetings have the ability to be held electronically through Thursday, October 8. The Town will host meetings through Zoom, a digital conferencing service that allows meetings to be broadcast on the Internet to devices such as computers, tablets, and phones. The public can watch meetings by clicking the 'live meetings' link on the homepage of the Town's website. Services for permitting, planning, zoning, business licensing, code enforcement, and general requests are available online through the CitizenServe portal or by phone.
